About the Artist

I was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta and from a very young age I new art was going to be an important part of my life. Consumed by the Awh! and inspiration of nature I have always enjoyed a wide range of subjects and methods to create my own artistic impressions.

In my enthusiasm to paint I seek to show my love of nature and the landscape with my vivid use of color. I often paint on location outdoors and have found it to be a vital part of my continuing development as a artist.

During my career I received a Commercial Art degree and have explored many mediums and methods of artistic expression. From a career in display and merchandising, interior design, teaching art to children, woodcarving, and fine art. My sister was the spark that ignited my passion once again to start doing my own creative paintings and to this day she is still my best critic. Currently my medium of choice is Acrylics in my paintings. I am an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, and the Cowichan Valley Arts Council.

In my development as a artist I am grateful for all the support received from the Blind Bay Painters and the TNS Federation of Canadian Artists also workshops with several well known B.C. artists. Active association with these groups has inspired me to bravely try new things and challenge my skills in discovering my own path.
